Washington Clean Room
This design of this facility includes multiple clean rooms within an existing single-story high volume building. The clean rooms varied from Class 100, Class 1,000, Class 10,000 and Class 100,000. Design criteria included +/- 1 degree Fahrenheit temperature ranges and +/- 5% relative humidity range in the most critical spaces. High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance (HEPA) 99.97% efficient filters required in the air introduced to the space for the cleanliness requirements. The project included individual recirculating air chilled water handling units for each room. The fresh air and humidity control is provided through a 100 % outside air unit that includes preheat coils, cooling coils, and gas fired humidification. This system helps to control the environmental conditions in a common return air plenum serving all the recirculating air units. Included in the design is a central plant that includes chiller and boiler systems providing cooling and heating capacities required by the equipment.
