Helms Bakery Parking Structure
Los Angeles, California
Architect: Max Williams, AIA
This project is a new 5-floor automated parking structure located at the historic Helm’s Bakery on the corner of Venice Boulevard and Hutchison Avenue. This structure provides open ground floor parking and four enclosed floors of automatic parking space. A proprietary system of controls and mechanical platform/support infrastructure allows for a much higher density of available parking than traditional parking structures. Power, lighting and site plumbing design is provided to support a very unique, automatic automobile “filing” system that requires no human interaction beyond parking in the dedicated loading space and using the entrance keypad to store the vehicle. The same technology retrieves the vehicle when at the owners request entered via the exit keypad.
