Vince became interested in engineering as a child when traveling with his father to various telephone switching centers where the senior Mr. Waters worked as a traffic engineer for the telephone company. Having a natural curiosity, Vince’s engineering mindset was formed during intense question and answer sessions he conducted with his father on the long drives between the home office and the switching centers. After high school, he traveled to North Carolina and obtained his first degree, an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering and subsequently his First Class Radiotelephone License. Vince pursued his engineering passion by going back to school in 1990 while working full-time to obtain his second degree, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He obtained his first professional Engineering license and embarked on his journey of opening his own Consulting Electrical Engineering Firm in 1995. After the economy diversion of 2008, Vince struck up a conversation with Peter Kraut that ultimately led to Vince joining South Coast Engineering Group as its Director of Electrical Engineering.
Vince brings over 30 years of experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security and other low voltage systems design. His work includes a large number of projects in healthcare, education, industrial and a variety of commercial projects. He is proficient in building code application and interpretation and has provided electrical plan review services for local municipalities.
