The South Central Educators Association, Inc. (SCEG) is proud to announce they are holding their 7th Annual, 5-State, Regional Meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 7-9, 2008, which serves leading real estate educators from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and the State of Texas. President Connie Miller and In-Coming President Dr. Wayne Thorburn welcome you to OKC!
We recognize you as a leader in the field of real estate education and would appreciate your support as we grow in helping influence higher standards in real estate education.
Visionaries renamed the early association of 5 South Central States as “The South Central Group-REEA” in order to comply with a REEA bylaw change, which no longer recognized State Chapters. Shortly thereafter, a more formal organization evolved, insuring a permanent influence in real estate education standards. Today, SCEG maintains a five (5) - State Regional Group comprised of leading regional, national and international real estate educators hailing from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and the State of Texas. Some are also members of Real Estate Educators Association (REEA), Oklahoma Real Estate Educators Association (OREEA), Association of Real Estate License Law Officals (ARELLO) and the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association (TRETA). Today, attendees hail as far away as the Eastern & Western Seaboards and Alaska and Cananda.
This "not-for-profit" organization is a valuable asset to the real estate industry, formed in order to achieve and maintain the higher standards found in successful real estate educators. SCEG is a resource for those involved in real estate education whose aim is toward keeping those in the Real Estate Industry well informed through quality presentation and androgogic delivery of timely, up to date industry information researched from primary sources. Currency, Credibility, Concordance with law and Craftmanship in delivery are fundamental elements in the SCEG organization.
In addition, numerous Internationally known speakers and key information presenters will deliver vital, up-to-date information including Thurman Miles, who will share his thoughts about Fair Housing Issues in Texas Residential Real Estate Transactions; also featuring Joe Goeters from Houston Community College who is known as of the first environmental handbook authors who covered "GREEN" case studies before green was "GREEN"; in addition, Tim Schmidt, Special Agent, Oklahoma FBI, will share insight on "Trends in Mortgage Fraud"; Chuck Jacobus - 1st President of SCEG - will conduct a mock trial covering the complexity of multiple licensure status individuals with a keen sight focusing on conflicts of interests; Jerry Rutledge, 2nd President of SCEG, will offer a précis into the consequences of the mortgage meltdown; Chuck Jacobus will also share his 'tri-decade' renown, ANNUAL LEGAL UPDATE, which is inclusive of all national and regional case law afftecting the real estate industry in the USA; a premier delivery of a "Fair Housing Play" will be presented jointly by Anne Woody, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and Jan Presler, Assistant Attorney General; and concluding this 7th Annual SCEG Conference will be our annual moderated panel, Moderated by Philip Schoewe, on the simple but complex topic of "Educational Infusion: How Can We Educate the Public, Licensees and Others in the Business of Real Estate & Mortgage Lending. Philip's moderation style is often described as having the mind of a lawyer, the passion of a producer and the heart of a teacher - stay for this last session and see why the moderated panel is a favorite conclusion to a genuinely in depth and diverse real estate conference. We estimate a core number of national participants (up to 25) who represent the finest levels of real estate education and the pinnacle of teaching and writing success.
Donations are needed by SCEG to support the events:
(1) Sponsorship of “President’s Welcome Reception
