Entrada De Santa Barbara, now the Hotel Californian, is a 248,000 square foot, 4-star luxury resort with 121 guestrooms, 22,000 square feet of commercial space, an underground parking garage, and a grand public plaza, located a block away from the beaches of Santa Barbara. The location and the elegance of the hotel makes it the perfect vacation spot for travelers.
Design challenges included the integration of facilities and operations across 3 city blocks, a rooftop pool, a historic facade to be maintained, and protection of utilities within the flood plain of the Pacific Ocean.
SCEG provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for the project.
