Providence Tarzana Medical Center opened to the public in 2019. This medical center is the product of a collaboration between Providence and Cedars-Sinai. It has over 800 physicians specializing in primary care, women’s and children’s health, robotic surgery, heart and vascular, neurosciences, and more.
A new 200,000 square foot five story wing, now named the Friese Family Tower, replaced the existing patient tower creating new acute care inpatient beds, the Emergency Department, Imaging, Pediatrics, the inpatient pharmacy and more. This project encompassed a new central plant with 72 hours of onsite water treatment, wastewater and stormwater capture and fuel oil for emergency power and heat. In addition, a new bulk oxygen system, medical air, medical vacuum and numerous medical gas manifolds were designed in the basement and along the new service yard and these now feed the majority of the campus.
SCEG was the plumbing engineer for these projects including the fuel oil and medical gasses.
